Falon Mihalic is an interdisciplinary artist, licensed landscape architect, and founder of Falon Land Studio. Her work is celebrated for its artistic vision backed by science-based solutions for connecting people to local ecology. With multiple public art commissions and landscape projects underway across the country, Falon maintains an active studio practice of drawing, painting, and sculpture. She has a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from New College of Florida. Her work has been supported by the Houston Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, the Kaboom Foundation, the Houston Arts Alliance and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Falon has taught studio design and lecture courses in the School of Architecture at Rice University and Texas A&M Prairie View.
Prior to founding Falon Land Studio, they worked on international landscape projects at Sasaki Associates and Mikyoung Kim Design. Falon’s work is informed by diverse work experiences in community organizing, beekeeping, microbiology labwork, and fundraising. She is a native of the Florida panhandle with a deep knowledge of plants, climate, and ecosystems of the Gulf Coast region.
